  • Studies under Jerry Bywaters and Elizabeth Walmsley
  • 1941, BFA in Art from Southern Methodist University
  • Assistant to Director of Dallas Museum of Fine Arts
  • Year-long leave of absence to study under Otis Dozier and Boardman Robinson at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
  • 1948-1952, teaches at Southern Methodist University
  • Served as founding director of the Dallas Museum for Contemporary Arts
  • 1980, dies in Dallas, Texas
